Hola's Holiday

Telling your holiday:On the holidays Hola stayed home and helped her mum clean the house and do her chores. On Saturday she went to her brother and sister’s house. They watched Alvin and the Chipmunks 3, Hola’s niece came over to her house and they played and it was fun and great. Hola and her twin sister found 2 kittens in the rubbish bin one was in the blue rubbish bin and the other kitten was in the red rubbish bin. One of the kitten’s colour was ginger and the other kitten colour was black and white. Hola and her twin got the kitten and went and wash the kitten so they can be clean. Also Hola’s twin sister went to the hospital because her eye was hurt and it began to boil. It was cool because she got to eat her breakfast and dinner and one of her nieces went down to the ground to play on the playground and it was amazing. After that Lollipops radio came over to my sister’s room and played with us and had  Mcdonalds.

Highlights:Hola’s highlight was when her family came and visited her twin sister at the hospital because it feels like a big happy family is back together.

Lowlights:Staying at home doing nothing and doing something like cleaning up the house.

Your dream holidays:Going on a vacation to Hawaii and America, Las Vegas and to New York and every other city she hadn't been to also to Tonga.

Jonny's Visit

What a beautiful sunny day our new speaker came to our door and stand there until we welcomed him to come in. When he came in our class he said hello and told us that he will first tell us all about him. He told us his name and his name is Jonny Wartman he was a graffiti act and he told us that if we want to be successful all we need to do is to follow our dream and one day it will come true like his dream. When Jonny was little he lived at Christchurch near the beach and the beach was always cold it was not hot so he told us that he would love to go to another country and go swim at the beach. Jonny said”when he watch cartoon he likes drawing it but at Christchurch they didn’t have pen and spray and other things. So Jonny goes to his next neighbour and asked them if they can go to a wall that they would be allow draw on and other things. Jonny and his next door neighbour would go there and draw graffiti act things and he loves it so when he grow up he goes and do lots of it and people comes to him and ask him if he can draw him some picture’s and when he finish it they would say to Jonny umm this does not look like the photo I want. So when Jonny do some graffiti act he was always have a practice to see if it works. After that we asked Jonny lots of question and Jonny answer them and he said it was a really good questions. When we finished we went outside with him and he was showing telling us about graffiti and the most important thing is to wear a mask when you are doing graffiti because the spray is really poisonous and you have to wear gloves. Jonny asked us what should he draw and Savelio said”he should draw a sunset so Jonny did and the room seven came out of there class and took some photo’s of it and then they went back inside their class. Jonny draw a beautiful sunset and we asked if we can have it and he said”yes”. So we have the graffiti act in our class hang on our wall here is a photo of it: Check this out :-)

Math Strategy

I have learned how to work out my 6 x,7 x and 8 x from my 5 x table, I will show you what I mean:
3 x 6 = 18
(3 x 5)= 15 + (3 x 1)= 3
15 + 3= 18

I will show you another time table:
3 x 7=21
(3 x 5)=15 + (3 x 2)=6
15 + 6=21

Catholic School Day

What a lovely sunny day today. We heard the bell rang and everyone came running to the front and lined up to get ready for school. The teachers spoke to us and told us that another school is coming and the name of the school was St Joseph, they came from Orakei. St Joseph came over to our school to celebrate the Catholic School Day.

We had morning tea early because the mass was at 11:00. After morning tea we came inside and did some maths stuff. Then the whole school came out and lined up and we went to the church and sat down on the chairs and waited until St Joseph came. When St Joseph came they came with their priest. The priest’s name is Father Terry and he was the main father because Father Ioane let him. After the mass Mrs Tui came up and told us what class we are going to be with. My class went with room 1, that was the year 6 & year 5’s, St Joseph only have 5 class they don’t have room 7 and year 8’s, only year 0 to year 6. But thats okay because they had lots of cultures, not just palagi people.

My buddy’s name was Siva Mena she was a Samoan. She was kind and funny she was from room 1(Room 1 is the highest class they don’t do it in order like us). Siva was head girl that means she was the leader of the school her and her best friend was the head leader. Siva is from St Joseph school (a school from Orakei). My buddy Siva gave me a badge and it says Catholic School’s Day 2013 St Josephs and Saint Pius X.

Later on we had lunch with them and we asked them questions about their school and their prayer is the same as our prayer. After we had lunch with them we went to the hall and shared songs.  St Joseph sang Count On Me by Bruno Mars and Room Seven from Saint Pius sang I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. After that St Joseph girls and some boys came up and did kapa haka and it was fun. When they finished room 7 came up and sang a song they made up song. When they finished room 3 from St Pius came and did their cup song and when they finished Saint Pius sang an African blessing song.

When it finished some people from St Joseph came and said some things and the teacher came and said some speeches and two girls came up and held a board and it says Living the life of Treasure. They all signed their name on it and the teachers names and they put feathers on it, different colour feathers. Having the St Joseph kids was fun and cool we took some photos of them and their buddies and some of the teachers.

Pictogram blog

We are learning about statistical literacy. This means reading and writing about statistics. We learned about pictogram. One of the most important things to look for is the key. The key is important because it tells you how many pictures are they. Here is some example of the pictogram:

My mum description

My mum is tall and she has short black hair, she loves her work. I love my mum because she is so careful with what to do. My mum is so special to me because every time I am stuck on my homework she helps me or else she tells me to go to my big sister.

My mum sometimes likes KFC but she likes cooking the best. My mum loves cooking but when she is tired she tells my big sister to cook what she likes. Every time Tonga vs. New Zealand she always says Go Tonga. My mum likes going to Tonga because she always wants to go and see her little sister and her kids. Also she wants to see her country.  My mum likes vegetables because she always wants to eat vegetables for her lunch and dinner. My mother doesn't like doing dishes because she always gets tired.

My mother irons my clothes in the morning, makes me some breakfast. She always reminds me what is good and what is not good. She always loves me and always reminds me to be careful at what I am doing also she tells me to study hard.I love my mother because she is so special to me and she is an awesome mother. She guided me when I was little and now I am 10 she still guides me. I love my mother so much, she is a brave mother and I am proud to have her as my mother.

My opinion is that Goldilocks should go to jail.

Firstly, she broke into the bear’s house.
Goldilocks was not supposed to go inside because she didn't own the house. Also it was not her property to go and do whatever she wants to do. Would you like if someone broke into your house?

Secondly, she used things without asking and broke things. She broke things that she can’t afford and she also broke into the house. How would you like it if someone came into your house and broke things in your house?

Thirdly, she left when they came home. She was rude and she didn't ask forgiveness. Goldilocks should say sorry for what she had done to their stuff.

My opinion of Goldilocks is she should go to jail because she was breaking into the bears house and broke their things.

Why did Jesus do these things?

He went up a mountain and prayed.
Jesus look after us and the people
who died and the sick people.

He made a man see.
He healed a girl. He made Lazarus rose from the dead.
He taught us the our father. He took care of kids. He teached people.
He spent 40 days and night in the desert.

Jesus looked after us.
Jesus washed the disciples feet.
Died for our sins. Died for us.
He died for our sins. He died for people’s sins.

Why did Jesus do these things?
-Because He loves us.
-Because he Is the Son of God.
-Because God the father take care of us and he was taking God’s place on earth and taking care of us.
-So we can be like him.
-For our sin.
